Diablo 是 Countach 的直接继承者，也是 Marcello Gandini 为兰博基尼设计的最后一台车（克莱斯勒当时拥有兰博基尼，对 Gandini 的原案做了大量"柔化"修改，Gandini 对此非常不满 —— 他后来把原始设计卖给了 Cizeta，成为 Cizeta-Moroder V16T）。VT（Viscous Traction）版本引入了兰博基尼的第一套四驱系统。
