M5 CS 是四门轿车里的性能顶点之一：1825 kg、635 马力、3.0 秒破百，同时有四个座位和一个正常的行李厢。
M xDrive 的三种模式是它最重要的功能：
- 4WD：全时四驱，最大牵引力
- 4WD Sport：更多扭矩给后轴，允许一定的车尾滑移
- 2WD：中央离合器完全断开，变成纯后驱，且 DSC 强制关闭
第三种模式是 M 部门的一个明确态度：四驱是为了 0-100 和恶劣天气，但当你想玩的时候，它可以变回一台 635 马力的后驱车。
CS 相比 M5 Competition 的改动：减重 70 kg（碳纤维覆盖件、碳陶刹车标配、更轻的排气、取消部分隔音）、+10 马力、悬挂重新标定、后排改成两个独立桶椅（四座）。
